The European Commission updates the Combined Nomenclature

The previous Combined Nomenclature (CN) was modernized in the interests of legislative simplification. The new CN will be applicable from 1 January 2022. The Combined Nomenclature (CN) is a tool for classifying goods, set up to meet the requirements both of the Common Customs and of the EU's external trade statistics. It was established by Council Regulation (EEC) No 2658/87 on the tariff and statistical nomenclature and on the Common Customs Tariff and is updated every year. The Combined Nomenclature (CN) develops on the basis of the Harmonized System (HS), initiated and maintained by the World Customs Organization (WCO). The latest version of the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2021/1832 29 October 2021 can be consulted here. Source: European Commission
